Ready for some football

Elli is ready for some Sunday night football.

Mommy didn't know she had drool all over her shirt!! Looks like it is time to get out the bibs!!

Talker

Elli is quite the little talker these days. Here she is talking sports with Mommy and Daddy. Daddy is trying to convince her to like the Cowboys and Mommy is saying NO WAY!!

We have hit a milestone!!!

We have a ROLLER!!! Elli is rolling over from her stomach to her back now!!! She can't really figure out what the big commotion is all about but we find it pretty exciting.
Of course Daddy has been out of town and didn't get to see it, but I am sure she will show off to him when he gets home.

Enjoy!!! Sorry for the shaky video.

Football Sunday

It is football Sunday and we love this time of the year!! Started out watching some of a little of every game out there on the NFL network and then watched the Bears/Steelers game for Ashli and Bryan is going to be watching Cowboys this evening. We even had a football game kind of dinner...buffalo chicken wraps and potato wedges. Yummo!!! Too bad the Colts don't play until tomorrow or we would be watching them!!

Elli and Ali are the only ones I will
claim in this picture

Ash in her favorite hat!! :)

Good ole fashion rivalry!!

2 Month Update

Elli went to the doctor today for her 2 month well baby check-up. She is growing like a weed and weighs 10 lbs, 15 0z and is 23 1/2 inches long now. Her weight is in the 50th percentile and her height is in the 75-90 percentile.
Elli got her first round of full immunizations today and she took them like a champ. She only cried for a few minutes and stopped once she got cuddled. Cuddling seems to be Elli's thing.

Ali & Ashli are both doing great. Ali is finally feeling better and seems like we are all healthy. Brownsburg football plays against Avon tonight in what is said to be the game of the year. Ali is going to it as a senior. Not sure if Ashli will be going or not.

We planned a weekend of being at home and doing a whole lot of nothing since we didn't know how Elli would be feeling after her shots.

What post would be complete without pictures...

Yummy

Tried this recipe last night and it was fantastic.

Louisiana Chicken Pasta

Ingredients:
For the chicken:
1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
Salt and pepper
Cajun seasoning
For the pasta:
8 oz. bowtie pasta
Salt
For the sauce:
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 red bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
3/4 tsp. kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
1 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. water

Directions:
To cook the chicken, heat a small amount of butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, and a generous sprinkle of Cajun seasoning. Add to the skillet and cook until lightly browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Bring a pot of salted water to boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain the cooked pasta and set aside.Meanwhile, return the skillet to medium heat and heat the butter and olive oil until the butter has melted. Add the bell peppers and onion to the pan. Mix in the salt, pepper, Cajun seasoning and cayenne pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 6-8 minutes. Add the half-and-half and heavy cream to the pan and bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water, and add to the skillet once the cream mixture has started to bubble. Allow to cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. When the sauce has thickened, add the cooked pasta and chicken pieces to the pan. Stir well to combine and cook at medium-low heat just until the chicken is warmed through. Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning if necessary to suit your tastes.

Elli is 2 Months Old

Hard to believe that Elli is 2 months old today. I still can't believe it has been 2 months since Elli joined our little family. She is such a beautiful & happy baby!!

Happy 2 month Birthday, Elli!!!

St. Louis

We have returned from our 2nd annual family trip to St. Louis. There was quite a bit of beer drinking and laughter had by all.

Elli tried out her new Cardinals outfit and was a hit by everyone that saw her!!
Too bad her Mommy didn't wipe the formula from her mouth before snapping pictures.

The Cardinals played a great game and it was close the whole game. In the end they lost, but we all had a great time anyway. Cade was very intense through the whole game. Like I said it was a close one!! :)

Ashli got to go up in the arch and she loved it. Bryan took her and I stayed down with Elli. You couldn't pay me to go up there, let alone me pay them to take me!!

We also left Elli with Grandma and Grandpa for the first time and everyone survived. I think it is much harder on parents than the baby.

Just for fun, here are some more shots from our trip. A big thanks to Grandma Paula, Grandpa Ralph and Uncle Pat for everything this past weekend!!

8 Weeks Old

Elli is 8 weeks old today!! So hard to believe. She had a busy weekend visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Illinois. Her cousins kept her busy and her Grandma and Auntie E had a great time cuddling with her for 2 days.

Last night Elli slept from 11:00 until 8:30 this morning!! She was worn out. I think she is happy to have some quiet time with Mommy today. She took at bottle and this has been her ever since.

I will try and take some 8 Week Old "awake" pictures when she gets up.

Ali is still miserable. She is pretty sick and had to stay home from school today. They would have sent her home anyway. She goes to the doctor this afternoon. Hopefully, they will give her something to make her feel better. In the meantime, Ashli and I are spraying Lysol on everything she touches!!

Only a few more days until we leave for St. Louis for a long weekend. Can't wait!!

Recipe

I am taking this opportunity to keep my recipes organized as well. Here are a couple of new recipes that I tried this past week and enjoyed.
I had to take the cookies with us to the in-laws house so that we didn't eat them all here. They were very good.

Testing 1...2....3

Thank you for taking the time to read our work in progress. I have decided to step into this crazy world of blogging. I realized that I spend half of my day sending email updates and pictures that maybe this would be an easier way to keep family and friends updated on our daily lives.
I have recently been enjoying several of my friends blogs and have been inspired to try it myself.
I won't go back in time and bore everyone with details from the beginning of time.
I will just start the posting with some of my favorite recent pictures and a promise to try and keep the blog going with regular updates and pictures.

Hope everyone enjoys reading.
